BizLibrary Releases New How-To Competency Development Series!

Nov. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- BizLibrary is excited to announce a new series of How-To Competency Development Guides! In the new 12-part competency development series BizLibrary helps organizations create employee learning and development plans targeted to key competencies relevant in today’s workplace.

According to a study by College for America, 71% of employers prefer developing existing employees into management roles rather than hiring new employees – but the lack of promotable skills is a major hurdle. The easiest way to target employee skill development is through competency-based training

Chris Osborn, Vice President of Marketing for BizLibrary and a thought leader in the learning and development industry commented on getting started with competency-based training, “Competency-based training links individual performance to the goals of the organization. Start by making sure your development plans are targeted and relevant both to the employee and the organization. A defined set of competencies for each role in your organization illustrates the behaviors, reinforces organization values, and provides the strategic direction employees need to achieve organizational objectives.”

In this new series we'll define the competency, outline supporting behaviors and suggested development activities. The first guide is on an emerging competency, “Learning Agility.”
