Pursue the dreams of your heart

Author Sherry Kyle delights readers with a story of love and forgiveness.

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Oct. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Stepping out in faith to pursue one’s passion takes tremendous courage, especially when life doesn’t go our way. In her first historical romance titled Watercolor Dreams (HopeSprings Books/ October 7, 2014/ ISBN 978-1938708435/ $14.99), Sherry Kyle introduces readers to two characters in the artist community of 1910 who are forced to confront their inability to accept God’s perfect plan for their lives.

Independent and determined, Anna Lewis wants nothing more than to become a premier watercolor artist of the lush sandy beaches of Carmel-by-the-sea. Kyle reveals there is more to Anna’s fortitude than creating beautiful watercolor paintings. “Anna’s desire to thrive within the artist community of Carmel gives her a purpose beyond her father’s overprotective plans for her life.”

Anna takes care of two rambunctious boys to earn a living while striving to carve out time to paint. Trusting her Heavenly Father with her future is difficult for Anna, especially because she is getting pressure from her earthly father to return home to San Francisco. Kyle explains, “Our timing is different than God’s timing, but He will bless us when we seek Him. The answer may be different than what we hoped or imagined—and always better.”

Heartbroken and abandoned, handsome novelist Charles Jordan has had his share of pain. His bride-to-be has left him at the altar, and now he has to pick up the pieces of his wounded heart. When the beautiful watercolor artist asks to sketch him into her painting, he has no idea the journey to hope and healing would begin. If only he hadn’t criticized the woman’s painting!

The pull of their hearts draws them together despite his fear of love and her sole desire to paint. Will a secret from his past prevent Charles from ever loving again? And will Anna have the hope she needs when tragedy strikes and she must rely on the one man who crushed her spirit?

Watercolor Dreams was inspired by Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

Advance Praise

Watercolor Dreams is a delightful story of a hero who has lost faith in love and a heroine who has no time for it—and the aunt makes for a sweet matchmaker.”   ~Susan Mobley, Romantic Times

“An interesting setting, as well as romance between a writer and a painter that must overcome many a trial if it is to blossom.” ~Publishers Weekly 11 Aug. 2014

“Absolutely wonderful! Loved the main characters. The children, well that was an adventure in itself. Heartwarming, suspense, mystery, exciting, as well as sweet, and even though faith was in it, it was just the right amount done tactfully, not pushy or preachy.” ~ Hannah, Goodreads review
