Daylon Graphics releases Leveller 4.1

Unicode supported, SDK updated also, free update for existing users

Sept. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Daylon Graphics recently released a minor update to its Leveller 4.0 terrain modeling software, 4.1. The new version supports Unicode, allowing documents, file references, entity names and its Text tool to use Unicode characters. The application can now run on non-Western Windows systems more easily, as users do not need to take any special precautions to prevent non-ASCII characters in any folder/filenames they use with the software.

POV-Ray scene exports are UTF-8 encoded, and UTF-8 encoding of texture file references is supported if requested for Renderman.

For safety, the Leveller 4.1 document format version is not backwards compatible with Leveller 4.0, as the older software could treat any Unicode data in a saved document erroneously. Users working in teams should upgrade to Leveller 4.1 en masse.

Coinciding with the 4.1 release are some minor bug fixes and an upgrade of the Leveller SDK making it easier to develop plug-ins, particularly heightfield format processors.

Leveller 4.1 is a free upgrade for existing Leveller 4.0 users, and the price remains unchanged at $49.95 USD.
