The Flexwords UI supports English, French, and Spanish, and offers both a skeuomorphic game board and a newer "flat" appearance in line with today's streamlined mobile UI. For gameplay, English and French language dictionaries are available. "After careful consideration, I felt that allowing tile reuse was the way to go." explains Ray Gardener, lead programmer. "It presented some difficulties to implement at first, but in the end, it really opens up lots of fun and novel possibilities in terms of tactics and strategy. I don't imagine it will ever be as mainstream as Scrabble since it's a bit more complex, but for anyone seeking a higher level of gameplay in this medium, I think they'll find it a lot of fun. It also has the virtue that, by vastly increasing the number of possible plays, there is no automated solver (yet)." More background information is available at www.linkedin.com/ The game also allows for avatars (player icons) to be created if one is unavailable. Since such avatars are defined and stored on the client device, players can choose avatars that help them identify opponents more easily. Flexwords is available for free (with ads) on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices on the App Store, and weighs in at only 26 MB. More information is available at http://www.flexwords.com. End
