Why did LoaferCo decide to support British manufacturing for their Kickstarter product launch?
To date US$1.2 billion has been pledged to back Kickstarter projects worldwide, making crowd funding a valuable place for British manufacturing to be represented.
Mark Cronin founded LoaferCo in 2013 and currently runs a successful web design agency based in Hertfordshire, England. After helping many entrepreneurs and small start-ups develop their businesses, Mark decided to apply his skills to launching his own accessories brand: LoaferCo.
“I wanted to bring my ideas to market and Kickstarter felt like the right platform to do that. It is a great way to check the demand for my product and also raise the capital needed to move the business forward.
“Choosing British craftsmen to work with helped me ensure the quality of the finished product. For larger companies outsourcing to the Far East can work very well, but without the contacts and past experience, I wanted to build a relationship with a British leather manufacturing company that I could visit easily, inspect the product quality and explain my requirements in detail. I have been very impressed with the workmanship and my supplier’s attention to detail during the manufacturing process and I know my project backers will be too” stated Mark.
Kickstarter campaigns operate under an “all-or-nothing”
