By: Providence Community Library The Rochambeau event follows a large turnout for the first forum at Knight Memorial Library, which took place on April 16. The third forum will take place on June 12 at Wanskuck Library (233 Veazie Street, 401-274-4145) Cedric de Leon, representative of the Friends of Rochambeau to the PCL board, said, “Our neighborhood libraries are places where people learn, build skills, and come together as a community. The mayoral forum is a great example. Rochambeau library is providing the time and space for us to deliberate and choose the next mayor of our city.” For more information, visit PCL’s website at www.provcomlib.org. ### NOTES FOR EDITORS Providence Community Library (PCL), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, was established in July 2009 by a dedicated group of volunteers after the Providence Public Library determined that it lacked the resources to manage the neighborhood branches of Fox Point, Knight Memorial, Mount Pleasant, Olneyville, Rochambeau, Smith Hill, South Providence, Wanskuck and Washington Park. Supported by the City of Providence, PCL is the largest library system in the state of Rhode Island and, in effect, the city’s second largest free educational institution after the Providence Public School District.
