Data Physics Releases New LE-5022-3 Inch Displacement Electrodynamic Shaker

SAN JOSE, Calif. - April 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Data Physics Corporation announced the release of its new SignalForce® LE-5022-3/DSA10-360K electrodynamic shaker system. The new water cooled shaker, powered by a 360 KVA amplifier, is capable of 50,000 lbf (222 kN) force. The large, powerful shaker, whose operating frequency ranges up to 3 kHz, can produce a maximum displacement of 3.0 inches (76.2 mm) peak-to-peak and a maximum continuous operating velocity of 79 ips (2.0 m/s). This shaker can operate continuously at 2.5 inches (63.5 mm).

The LE-5022-3 shaker comes with an armature machined from a high strength aluminum casting, hand-wound with hollow tube conductor for water cooling, opto-pneumatic load support and dual hydrostatic bearing axial guidance. The proprietary J-type flexures combined with dual hydrostatic bearing guidance provide superior dynamic cross axis and rotational stiffness. Durability is a major consideration in the design.

The shaker was primarily designed to meet the newer MIL-STD test specifications and more rigorous environmental tests prescribed by downhole oil tool manufacturers’ qualification standards. These tests were previously limited to servohydraulic shakers with four inches of displacement but can now be achieved with the robust LE-series water cooled shakers.

The first LE-5022-3” shaker system was fully tested in December 2013 and installed in January 2014.
