Advantech Launches Two New DSP-based 8-Axis Stepping and Servo Motor Control Universal PCI Cards

CINCINNATI - Feb. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Advantech has launched two new motion control cards, the PCI-1285 and PCI-1285E that emphasize high speed, high precision, and multi-axis synchronization.  They are DSP-based SoftMotion PCI bus controller boards which are designed for a wide range of applications in the machine automation fields.   Both boards are equipped with SoftMotion algorithms inside the DSP to perform the motion trajectory and timing control to meet the synchronization in precise movement.

Through the use of an included common motion API and universal programming library support, integration is easily achieved without the need to spend a lot of time, energy, and money on upgrades.

Multiple axis synchronization on one card or across multiple cards allows for the synchronization of devices across complicated motion patterns, therefore making it more precise than ever before.

To ensure even greater accuracy, they have been designed with high speed compare and trigger circuits to quickly carry out on-the-fly vision inspection.  This is done using compare speeds of up to 100 KHz and having a memory buffer up to 100,000 points.
