DENTON, Texas - Jan. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- A veteran of the world of video games has landed himself in the world of trading card collecting.

Patrick Scott Patterson of Denton, a gamer for nearly 33 years, makes his living as a video game expert.  He was recently selected to be one of 52 people to be included in the 'Geek A Week' trading card set from artist Len Peralta, an artistic card series that has featured names such as Stan Lee, Kevin Smith and author Neil Gaiman in previous sets.

The 'Geek A Week' set is currently raising funds on Kickstarter as it has to fund printings of previous sets.

Patterson has previously appeared on two cards in another series from legendary video game referee Walter Day.  He was honored by Day for that card at an event in Denver, Colorado in November.

"I still don't know how to really wrap my head around this sort of thing," Patterson said.  "It's a rush to be honored by others for simply doing the things I love to do."

In addition to the trading cards, Patterson is slated to appear in several video game documentary films and will be speaking at SXSW in Austin on March 9.
