University of Barcelona and iValueHealth.NET partner to promote e-Health within academic programme

Jan. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- The Department of Physiological Sciences II within the Medical School - Campus of Health Sciences Bellvitge of the University of Barcelona ​​chose an e-Health solution provided by iValueHealth.NET within the academic training programme of their medical students.

In a changing environment, health, like many other sectors, is undergoing a period of transformation due to the emergence of technological solutions meant to bring their support to improve the life of people/patients. The medical students of today i.e. doctors of tomorrow from the Medical School at the University of Barcelona ​​have now the opportunity to use a social health platform to make their voice heard locally and globally, share knowledge and insight. Students are connected with professionals from around the world and all the other actors from the healthcare value chain via this social network, and benefit from the contribution of the medical community.

Starting 2014, the Exercise Physiology Unit from the Medical School ​​has put in place an academic educational program for their students, making therefore an important step forward, towards Health 2.0 practices. iValueHealth.NET technology has made this possible and the medical students will be able to access more than 50 services every day via computer, laptops, tablets or mobile phones, from the school, home/work or anywhere else. iValueHealth.NET has created a special service, using the detailed day-to-day activities of an individual, to provide an overview of his/her overall level of physical activity. This service will allow medical students and patients to calculate the level of daily caloric intake either to maintain the current weight or to reach an ideal weight. Besides this, current medical students, alumni and patients can use many other services for benchmarking such as weight, BMI, BSA etc available on the platform.
