New E-Book to Help Military Spouses Navigate Educational and Career Success

“When my husband was deployed, I had to wear the mom and the dad hat,” said Sheila Kennedy, a Grantham graduate who received her bachelor of science in business management. “After sitting in a classroom three days a week for a semester, I realized that this didn’t work with my life. I worked 10-hour days, and my children participated in activities. My time on campus wasn’t worth sacrificing their passions.”

A 2007 study by the National Military Family Association supports Kennedy’s feelings.  They surveyed nearly 8,000 military spouses who felt the same frustration of wanting to pursue their goals, but not having the ability to do so.

The MyCAA program through the Department of Defense has helped alleviate some of the financial roadblocks for military spouses looking to pursue their degree, but that’s only a partial solution. In The Military Spouse’s Guide to Education and Career Successes, readers will gain insight on how to:
