PRLog -- The Community Building Initiative has been an established organization in Charlotte since 1997. Over the years, they have started to refer to themselves more as CBI, rather than the Community Building Initiative. Today, they are typically referred to as CBI by the public and internally. To reflect this shift, they have decided to change their website domain from CommunityBuildingInitiative.org to http://www.CBICharlotte.org.
This change will reflect CBI’s branding and will keep everything consistent. It makes the most sense to keep the name constant throughout all mediums. As the branding of CBI changes it was necessary to reflect that with the domain change.
The other big reason for the change is simplicity for CBI’s members. CommunityBuildingInitiative.org is long and leaves a lot of room for spelling error. Misspellings can prevent people from finding the website and writing out the full name is tedious. People need to be able to get to the site, so CBI wants to make it as easy as possible to do so.
Ultimately, this domain change will be mutually beneficial for CBI as well as for the public. The old domain will continue to redirect to the new site, to extinguish confusion and to facilitate ease of the change. Visit CBI at their new domain cbicharlotte.org to learn more about the organization and all of the programs that they have.
