Autumn savings to the Atlantic coast of Morocco - £238 pp

The riads, whilst traditional in design, have modern and luxurious touches such as remote controlled sliding glass roofs, flat-screen TVs with a selection of DVDs to watch, Egyptian cotton sheets and some bathrooms have double showers (for water saving purposes, naturally).

There are a number of swimming pools (the larger properties have private pools) a tennis court and a hammam (with bookable treatments).

The modern riads have fully-equipped kitchens but there is also an on-site chef who will cook and deliver freshly prepared meals to the riads for a supplement.

The properties overlook one of the best beaches on the entire coastline (100m away) and there are numerous activities on offer including camel safaris, mule rides to a Berber house for a traditional lunch and wind/board/kite surfing (with instruction if needed).

One of the most popular activities is a cooking demonstration by the talented Rebali chef, which is preceded by a shopping expedition to the local markets in Essaouira – including buying fresh fish within minutes of it being landed – followed by a cooking lesson back at the riads and then a hearty lunch!
