Cockshaw takes the viewer on a tour of the areas that were his inspiration, the fruition of an almost decade-long photography and digital media project. Photographed landscapes crossfade into works of art throughout the book, as seen in a segment depicting tree herders in “The Dreams of Trees Unfold.” "Wrath, Ruin, and a Red Nightfall undeniably refers to the forbidding elements and the menacing aspect of Middle-earth," The collection is photography- “It’s realism that sits comfortably alongside a sense of the fantastic and the forbidding,” The five-minute film includes the artist reading poetry, exploring the woods in search of Ents, and provides enticing peeks of several pieces of his art. All the while dramatic music provided by AKM music plays in the background, enhancing the film experience. Cockshaw studied Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University, earning an MA in Art and Design in 2003. His paintings have been exhibited in the North of England since 2007. As an artist and fan of Tolkien, he set out to create a collection of original artwork inspired by the extensive mythology of Middle-earth as found within The Lord of the Rings and the author's wider writing.
