Multiple Sclerosis Foundation Honors Departing Board Member

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - July 19, 2013 - PRLog -- The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation (MSF) announced today that Dr. David Squillacote has retired from its Board of Directors, ending a 20-year relationship with the organization.

Dr. Squillacote trained as a neurologist at the University of Miami, and subsequently completed fellowships in both Clinical Multiple Sclerosis and Neurological Intensive Care. He began his association with the MSF in the early 1990's as a member of the MSF Healthcare Advisory Panel and later served as Senior Medical Advisor to the Foundation.  In 2006, he was elected to the MSF Board of Directors.

Dr. Squillacote has recently accepted the position of Executive Director, Clinical Development and Medical Affairs, with Acorda Therapeutics, a biotechnology company that develops products to help people with neurological issues, where he will be involved with activities related to products for people with multiple sclerosis and other disorders of the nervous system.

President and Board Chair, Eric Schenck, expressed appreciation for Dr. Squillacote’s years of devoted service, saying “Dr. Squillacote will be greatly missed as an active and effective participant in the direction of the Foundation.  His experience and enthusiasm have left a lasting impression, and have greatly contributed to the achievements of the MSF.  On behalf of the Board of Directors and employees of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, many thanks to David Squillacote for his years of commitment to the betterment of the MS community, and best wishes for success in his new endeavor.”
