LOS ANGELES - July 9, 2013 - PRLog -- "Every daughter needs her father, and every absentee father has a story," is the tagline of this powerful production. With more than 30-years’ experience writing and presenting thought-provoking works that mirror life experiences for both theater and film, as well as his desire to build acting opportunities for African American actors; Award winning playwright and producer Kosmond Russell has penned a collection of dynamic works, and his productions are making their way around the country to rave reviews.

"Kosmond is one of the most committed and important advocates of the theater community in Los Angeles that I know. It's not his work; it's his CALLING!' says actor James Pickens, Jr., Dr. Webber from Shonda Rhimes highest rated television drama, Grey's Anatomy.

Having worked with some of the most respected names in the entertainment industry, Mr. Russell broke through with the theater play-turned-to-feature-film 'The Visit', starring Obba Babatunde,  Billy Dee Williams, Hill Harper, Phylicia Rashad and Marla Gibbs.

When asked what motivated him to write 'The Home Going', Mr. Russell spoke of his love of being a father to his own son and his inability to understand a father leaving. This gave way to his exploration of the many nuances and reasons men feel compelled to go. "The Dealership" was born out of his experiences watching senior citizens resist the digital revolution. In the play, the 80-year-old husband embraces change and his wife doesn't ('If he's Tweeting, he MUST be Cheating!') and from there the hilarious fallout begins!

Debuting in Los Angeles this weekend only and in Winston-Salem, North Caroline at the National Black Theatre Festival at the end of the month, Kosmond Russell Production will be presenting two one-act plays: 'The Home Going', directed by Denise Dowse and starring Hawthorne James and Tiffany C. Adams and 'The Dealership', directed by Adleane Hunter, starring Bill Lee Brown, Baadji-Lyne, Donald Agnelli, Richard Gant and Aloma Wright.

These powerful plays will be presented in two locations: Los Angeles: Stage 52 Playhouse
Fri, July 12th, 8:00pm - Sun July 14th, and in Winston-Salem, North Carolina: National Black Theatre Festival Hamlin Theatre, Wed, July 31st, 3:00pm and 8:00pm and Thurs, August 1st, 3:00pm and 8:00pm. Tickets are available: Los Angeles -  For North Carolina -
