Tim Hubbard and Niklas Blomberg to Keynote Clinical Genomics & Informatics Europe Conference & Expo

Led by global industry pioneers, Clinical Genomics & Informatics Europe will provide research teams with technologies and strategies for Exome Sequencing, High-Scale Computing, RNA Sequencing, Genome Informatics, Epigenetics and Digital Detection.

NEEDHAM, Mass. - July 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Bio-IT World and Cambridge Healthtech Institute are proud to announce two distinguished keynote presenters at the Fifth International Clinical Genomics & Informatics Europe Conference, to be held in Lisbon, Portugal from 4-6 December 2013.  The meeting will bring together the international genomics and informatics communities to evaluate opportunities for advancing next-generation sequencing and molecular diagnosis of complex diseases. With four dedicated tracks, the program will tackle the huge amounts of sequencing data produced by new technologies that present significant challenges for bioinformatics, both in terms of the analysis and interpretation of clinical data. Preliminary agenda details have been released and are available at http://www.clinicalgenomicsinformatics.com.

“Significant advancements in genomics and bioinformatics provide immense opportunities for clinical management of patients and precise diagnosis of disease. With that comes the mounting need for collaboration across the industry.  Clinical Genomics & Informatics Europe will provide the venue for international teams to come together and navigate these new opportunities and challenges for day-to-day application,” states Christina Lingham, Conference Executive Director at Cambridge Healthtech Institute.

Keynote presenters include Dr. Tim Hubbard, Senior Group Leader of Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and Dr. Niklas Blomberg, Founding Director of ELIXIR.  Additional featured speakers include Brian Haas, Manager of Genome Annotation at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard; Marcel Dinger, Head of Clinical Genomics at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research; and David Barton, Chair of the European Molecular Genetics Quality Network.  The presenters will deliver real-world insights for advancing biomedical research through four dedicated fields: Clinical Exome Sequencing, RNA Sequencing and Transcriptome Analysis, High-Scale Computing, and Genome Informatics.  Also available at the event are two technical symposia on Clinical Epigenetics and Quantitative Digital Detection Technologies.
