MOLD, Wales - July 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Heart-broken Mark Bennett is set to embark on a gruelling five-day challenge in a bid to raise awareness of the rare and aggressive form of cancer that took the life of his beloved 27 years old fiancé Kinga Nowicka almost a year ago.

The nightmare began when Kinga was suddenly taken ill and rushed to hospital with severe abdominal pains, the cause of which turned out to be an unidentified mass behind her heart. Then when the couple spent their first night in the home they had bought together, Kinga discovered a lump in her leg.

Further examinations by her medical team led the doctors to diagnose Sarcoma, a rare and little-known form of cancer. Despite their best efforts, Kinga passed away last July.

“I was devastated but Kinga was so brave. When she received the diagnosis she said: ‘I’m going to beat this.’  Although Sarcoma is rare it is very aggressive. The key is early diagnosis,” said Mark. “Now I want to do all I can to raise awareness of Sarcoma, so I am embarking on a challenge that will hopefully raise some badly needed funds to help others battle this terrible condition.”

So on Thursday July 4th, the 33 years old IT engineer from Northop, North Wales will set off on a five-day sponsored challenge which will involve biking, swimming, Kyaking and mountain walking in a bid to raise money for Sarcoma UK.

Mark will leave from the Boar’s Head at Northop Hall, which was where he first met Kinga in 2008. He will then cycle to Bala Lake followed by a two miles swim and four miles of kayaking.

Getting back on his bike to cycle on to Mount Snowdon, Mark will be joined by family and friends to walk up and down the mountain before finally cycling back to Northrop Hall.

Mark’s employer, IT support company Pro-Networks of Sandycroft, Deeside has generously agreed to sponsor the sign-writing costs for Mark’s support vehicle. Chester and Wrexham-based financial advisors, Chesterton Grant, has also kindly provided the sponsorship to cover Mark’s hotel costs during the challenge.

“The generosity of these people is heart-warming and I am extremely grateful,” said Mark.
