MIAMI (Jun 24, 2013) - Last week, news broke of the Food Network's decision to not renew Paula Deen's contract in light of accusations of racism made against the celebrity chef. A former general manager of a Deen restaurant filed a lawsuit in March of 2012, alleging that she suffered prejudice and discrimination from Deen.

Accoding to John P. David, a public relations consultant in Miami, Deen's harm to herself and her brand is far beyond repair.

"I have written about celebrity falls from grace in the past, and my typical refrain is that in American anyone can make a comeback," David wrote in his blog post, (miamiprblog.com). "But I think this one's an anomaly. In this case, Deen's got her rear end in the deep fryer with little hope of coming out crispy and delicious."

In a deposition, Deen openly admitted to using racial slurs in the past, specifically on one occasion in which she discussed a burglary incident. Deen released two YouTube videos pleading for forgiveness from the public in a desperate attempt to perform damage control, but not before failing to appear on the Today Show with Matt Lauer. Unsurprisingly, her please fell upon deaf ears at the Food Network.

"Perhaps a heartfelt apology tour, starting with Lauer and Today, could start her on the path to redemption, but I think the damage is too extensive. If she does come back, it will be in a greatly limited role, perhaps just to serve us leftovers."
