Geolux will demonstrate its 24GHz portable man ground radar (PMGR) at IFSEC South Africa

JOHANNESBURG - June 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Geolux, a leading European manufacturer of radar sensors for security and traffic applications will demonstrate its 24GHz PMGR motion sensor at the IFSEC security trade show in Johannesburg, from 18-20 June 2013. The RSS-2-300 PMGR radar sensor is able to detect moving targets in range, which is 400 meters for pedestrians and 800 meters for vehicles. The RSS-2-300PMGR unit is equipped with field use tripod and battrery that lasts for three days. Due to its ultra lightweight construction it can be field deployed in just a few minutes and left to operate independently. The radar device can communicates with a central monitoring station either fixed or mobile, through a variety of available wired and wireless communication links, such as GPRS, ZigBee or satellite Internet. It can be easily combined with visible, infra red, or thermal vision cameras.

The demonstration unit at the IFSEC show will communicate directly to a portable laptop to demonstrate the great potential of the unit as a quick deployment field use radar, showing the ease of setup and live monitoring, that was previously unheard of. Geolux PMGR can monitor multiple targets in large areas, in any type of weather conditions.

The RSS-2-300 PMGR has been thoroughly field-tested in Africa, and it operates flawlessly in harsh environment conditions. It can whitstand temperatures from -40 to +85 which makes it perfect for harshaplication work in Africa and sub zero temperature countries. Integrated highly advanced phyTrackdigital signal processing algorithm developed by Geolux removes critical unwanted ground noise from the sensor input, resulting in false alarms to be near zero.

The applications of RSS-2-300 include critical border control, military installation site protection/anti-poaching protection and commercial perimeter intrusion detection. It can be integrated with any existing alarm and analogue or digital CCTV systems.
