MONTEREY, CA  --  Tarpy’s Roadhouse, located 2999 Monterey Salinas Hwy in Monterey, is pure and simple.  It celebrates the heritage and craftsmanship of the old fashioned Roadhouse with a rustic, chic décor!  Chef Michael Kimmel has added sumptuous new seasonal menu items to the menu.

Chef Michael’s new seasonal menu items celebrate local purveyors and the bounty of Tarpy’s garden including fresh herbs, fruits, vegetables and edible flowers.

·         SMALL BITE:  Smoked Ham, Sharp Cheddar Cheese and Maple Puff Pastry Turnovers

·         SMALL BITE: Super Taco of Barbacoa of Pork Carnitas, Black Beans, Pepper Jack Cheese, Tomato, Cilantro & Avocado in a Hang Made White Corn Tortilla

·         APPETIZER: Fresh Dungeness Crab with Citrus with a Salad of Baby Lettuces, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Navel and Blood Oranges, Citrus Vinaigrette & Fresh Strawberries

·         ENTRÉE: Wood Grilled Maine Sea Scallops w/ Balsamic Glaze served with Spaghetti, Buttered Leeks, Snap Peas in a Cilantro Pesto Cream plated with a Roasted Red Pepper Coulis  

·         ENTRÉE: Tender Braised Beef Short Rib in a Rosemary Demi-Glace over Cheddar Cheese Grits w/ Grilled Cajun Andouille Sausage served with Garden Vegetables  

·         DESSERT: Strauss Organic Caramel Toffee Ice Cream Sundae, Warm Chocolate Brownie, White and Dark Chocolate Coasted Toffee Brittle, Caramelized Bananas& Creamy Caramel Sauce.  

Wine Down Wednesday Every Wednesday in 2013!

“Wine Down Wednesdays” showcases local vintners, wineries and their wines and offers Tarpy’s customers the chance to taste great wines and chat up a winery expert.  Each week, the featured winery offers tastes of several of its wines. Tarpy’s offers those same wines at half-price By-The-Glass and by the bottle in addition to a discounted 3-course prix-fix menu complimenting the week’s featured wines. Guests will also have the chance to enter a monthly drawing for a dinner for two at Tarpy’s and a basket of wine! Wine-Down Wednesdays are free, open to the public and are held every Wednesday, every week, 12 months a year!
