DUBLIN - May 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Spending endless hours in the gym or at bootcamp but you're not seeing any changes? Need results fast?

Straight from the mouth of The Weight Loss Attitude program Director and Head Coach Anna Aparicio, here's 4 top tips to help you get better results with your fitness program.

Get these right and expect to lose, lose, lose, fast, fast, fast!

1#  ADD PURPOSE TO YOUR GOALS

Goals that are based solely on reaching a certain number on the scales can turn into boring weapons of soul destruction. It’s good to have a specific body weight target you want to achieve, or a specific size… but don’t let a number rule your life and happiness, because the chances are that you’ll feel really good about yourself well before you’ve reached that number. Inject a dose of bigger purpose into your goals by asking yourself and answering these questions:

What do you want to be this weight/ size/ shape for? What will you see/ hear/ feel/ do when you’ve accomplished your goals?

2#  WORK OUT YOUR REFLEXES

Imagine yourself standing at a set of red traffic lights. Are you the person looking around or checking their phone, totally oblivious to the fact the light’s gone green? Or, like me, are you so focused on that light that by the time it’s changed to green and you’re half way across the road everyone else is still behind you only starting to walk. "I set myself little challenges like this on my every day life that help develop my reflexes" says Anna "so when I’m in the gym and my trainer shouts “Go!” I fire off straight away, whilst some people can waste anything from 5, to 10, to 20 seconds getting ready for an exercise".

For Olympic athletes less than 1 second is the difference between coming first, second, third… and when it comes to you getting the best possible results, trust me, 5 seconds count! The next time you work out, keep to your designated rest time but stay focused on the task at hand, so when your trainer or your watch says “go” you go!

3#  PERFECT YOUR TECHNIQUE

Whilst exercising, do you just go through the motions of a particular exercise, or do you proactively focus on improving your technique with every repetition you perform? The later will not only save you from preventable injury, but will also make a massive difference to the results you get.

Always working within your personal fitness capabilities, you should strive to get better with every rep you do, whether you run, cycle, swim, or lift weights, good technique means you engage a higher percentage of muscle into the exercise you’re doing. Half a squat is not the same thing as a full butt to the grass squat. The later will always give you better results. A good coach will constantly reinforce the importance of good technique, but if you train on your own it’s your responsibility to keep yourself safe and sexy!

4#  INTENSIFY INTENSITY

Above we added purpose to our goals, here we’re adding challenge. You don’t get results for turning up to boot camp, to your PT sessions, or to the gym. You don’t get results for just going through the motions of your exercise session. You get results as you progress. And progression requires challenge. Every time you perform an exercise right you’re better than the previous time you did it. Therefore, every time your focus should be on challenging yourself a little more.

Our body adapts to change way before our brain does. So before you think you can do something, the chances are that you can already do it. To get better results from your fitness program, you must add intensity to your training sessions. You can borrow Anna's own personal motto and go “better, harder, stronger!”

Whether it’s a faster start time, better technique, a couple more repetitions, or one more lb/kilo lifted… as long as you’re constantly and continuously moving forward you will continue to get results.
