SaveOurWorkforce Develops Youth Solution to High Unemployment

SARASOTA, Fla. - April 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Unemployment remains stubbornly high with nearly 12 million Americans unemployed (http://saveourworkforce.org/), as reported this month by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The March report also shows that more than 6 million of these people actively looking for work have been unemployed for 15 weeks or more, indicating the job market is weak. The "official unemployed" rate is 7.7 percent (U-3) and the "actual unemployed" rate is 14.3 percent (U-6) as reported by BLS. Not surprising, this feeble labor market makes it more difficult for young people to find jobs and they have built an organization called SaveOurWorkforce (http://saveourworkforce.org/) to help reduce unemployment.

"For several months students studied the causes of high unemployment and we came up with a powerful solution using social networking tools," explains Ross Mazzolini, a student at Texas Tech University. To lower unemployment, these young people built a website called SaveOurWorkforce.org that encourages U.S. companies to keep jobs in America instead of outsourcing them to foreign countries.

Mazzolini says their research indicates that America is losing over 2 million jobs a year from outsourcing (http://saveourworkforce.org/) and these same companies are making record profits and paying their top executives multi-million dollar salaries. "We are not against outsourcing, however we believe it's important to track how many jobs a company provides to U.S. workers compared to the number of jobs provided to foreign workers" says Mario Palma, a student at El Camino College.

The SaveOurWorkforce.org website allows consumers to easily lookup how many U.S. jobs a company provides. Their free social networking website tool, “Before-You-Buy, Verify (http://saveourworkforce.org/buy-verify)”, shows the number of U.S. jobs a company provides for consumers to easily purchase products from businesses that are supporting America's middle class workforce. Their database gives each company a rating by tracking the number of jobs a company offers in the United States and foreign countries to determine a U.S. workforce percentage. The company rating also shows the CEO weekly pay.

Prior to making a purchasing decision, a consumer can compare the U.S. workforce (http://saveourworkforce.org/) size and CEO pay of multiple companies and direct their purchase to the business that is providing the most jobs to American families. "Using this tool encourages companies to keep jobs here", says Nestor Crespin, attending Loyola Marymount University.

People who are interested in keeping jobs in America can show their support by becoming members at SaveOurWorkforce.org. "Working together we can rebuild America's workforce and create a brighter future for us all," says Mazzolini.
