SWANSEA, Wales - April 8, 2013 - PRLog -- This Friday, local company Save Britain Money will be holding a ‘Go Green’ day at their offices in Matrix Park to launch their commitment towards becoming a more environmentally friendly office.

Having spent the last seven years providing energy efficiency advice to thousands of consumers, the SBM group feel that the time is right to put their own house in order by reviewing their internal processes, analysing the volume of waste that leaves their offices each day and evaluating the amount of energy consumed.

In a pledge to become a paperless office and take a positive step towards recycling as much waste as possible, the group has enlisted the help and support of the Swansea Council recycling team who will be visiting the offices during Friday armed with plenty of information and advice on how to reduce waste and protect our planet.

And it’s not just recycling that the company will be focusing on. With over 500 members of staff, the majority of who drive, the SBM group have invited the Energy Saving Trust to bring along their Smarter Driving Simulator. The simulator will enable employees to review their driving skills and provide information on how to drive more efficiently, reduce carbon emissions and save money on fuel bills.

In other steps the group are introducing recycling points throughout their offices, removing personal bins, training staff on reducing waste, encouraging car sharing and adding a public pledge to their website. The green message is being conveyed to staff through a variety of games on the day and a ‘green’ fancy dress theme. The group are encouraging all staff to get involved and commit to making a collective difference towards the future.

The SBM group are hoping that the day will be a huge success and have set a target to reduce their office waste by 70% over the forthcoming weeks with a view to increasing this as they achieve results.
