Siding contractors in Vancouver argue about 'fair' price

Siding pricing is changing in Canada and in Vancouver, BC. What is your opinion?

Feb. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Siding remains to be the most popular material for external renovations. Trend is changing slowly from installing vinyl and cedar siding to hardie and certainteed.

As the price for materials does not change a lot, labour pricing is fluctuating. For example, cost of materials for vinyl siding is about 1 CAD per sq foot, 4 CAD for cedar siding and about 2 CAD for hardie. Cement fiber siding is much more durable than cedar and more attractive than vinyl. Along with lots of other features it is growing on the market.

The price for labour is changing though. Most of the crews are working for 3 CAD per sq foot, but when you add licensing, insurance, taxes, estimates, office expenses, gas, etc, it comes to 10-12 CAD. When the crew or company is experienced they are willing to charge even 15-17 CAD per sq feet.

Do you think it is fair? Will you pay extra to make sure that your contractor is properly insured and pays all the bills?

Since February we offer our clients 20% discount on labour price. Promotion will end at May when the busy season starts. Call us today or visit http://SidingInVancouver.com!
