IntelliTec HVAC Student Awarded PPMCA Gary Robinson Scholarship

Dec. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Colorado Springs, Colorado – IntelliTec College HVAC student Joseph Connelly was chosen to receive the very first PPMCA Gary Robinson Scholarship for HVAC excellence on October 25th. IntelliTec is one of only two schools in the Colorado Springs area that has been chosen to receive this scholarship. The $500 Connelly receives will go toward his college tuition.

The Pikes Peak Mechanical Contractors Association (PPMCA) is an association of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning/Refrigeration) Contractors in the Pikes Peak Region. This fully volunteer-based organization has come together in an effort to promote networking around the community and to provide training for technicians on an on-going basis. The Scholarship program was started this year as part of the Gary Robinson Memorial. It is intended to be an annual gift of education and a way for the PPMCA to give back to the community. Both IntelliTec College and Pikes Peak Community College received a $500 Scholarship to be awarded to the student of their choosing.

IntelliTec College HVAC student Joseph Connelly was chosen for this award because of his outstanding academic ability, perfect attendance and dedication to the program. IntelliTec’s Refrigeration & AC-HVAC Technician instructors have only good things to say about Connelly, and they truly believe he has the drive and ambition to needed to be a great HVAC Technician. In fact, he has already begun his career. Connelly has recently accepted an entry-level position with HVAC Solutions in Colorado Springs. Despite demands of attending school and work, he still attends every class and maintains his excellent academic standards.

Program Supervisor Eric Seltenright became involved with the PPMCA to help him stay current with local issues in the HVAC/R community while operating his own HVAC/R business. Seltenright's PPMCA membership benefits his students as he brings his community connections with him. IntelliTec College’s HVAC Technician program features small, personalized HVAC/Refrigeration classes with specialized, hands-on instruction. It is accredited by HVAC Excellence and it prepares students to sit for various professional HVAC certificate exams.
