ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Dec. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Albuquerque, NM – IntelliTec College in Albuquerque hosted the official Grand Opening of its new automotive technician training facility on Saturday, November 14th, 2015 at 5001 Montgomery Boulevard NE, Suite A24, Albuquerque, NM 87109 (just west of Burlington Coat Factory). Attendees were able to meet one-on-one with administrators and staff, take tours of the campus, and enjoy free refreshments such as hamburgers and hot dogs.

Campus Director Scott Yelton is thrilled to introduce the new facility to the community. The 12,000 sq. ft. automotive training facilityhosts six classrooms and four service bays equipped with brand new Snap-On equipment. Yelton offers, “We welcome the public to check out the facility and the equipment, to see what an incredible hands-on experience this program offers, and to meet with the student-centered college staff.”

Albuquerque Chambers of Commerce Welcome Additional Automotive Training

IntelliTec’s new training fills a strong demand in the city. Before IntelliTec’s Automotive Technician program launched, Albuquerque had only one other college offering automotive training. This program began in August of 2015 and currently has 42 students enrolled. An additional 20 more students are scheduled to begin classes November 16th.

“Without exception, everyone is pleased to have this new training available. I’ve met with two separate Chambers [Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce and the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce], and the feedback is supportive and enthusiastic.” He’s excited with the depth and breadth of the instructional staff and feels lucky to have such an outstanding Program Supervisor to lead the way.

IntelliTec Continues a One-On-One Student Approach at New Campus

Yelton supports the college’s student-centered approach, which begins at the top of its organization, “Everyone is truly focused on fostering a student centric environment. It’s a core belief to treat the IntelliTec ‘family’ with encouragement and support.”

As Yelton settles into his new role, he finds IntelliTec’s culture reflects Albuquerque’s culture. “I’ve lived in this community for a number of years and have found, although it’s culturally diverse, people are accepting of one another. The relaxed and informal nature of the people allows everyone to ‘live and let live.’”
