Lee & Associates Charleston Adds The Barkley Company to its Team in Merger

Nov. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Lee & Associates Charleston, in a move that will provide expanded services in brokerage, asset management and real estate management, announced the addition of four experienced professionals, including J. Miles Barkley, who is the founder and president of The Barkley Company.

Barkley, whose company has merged into Lee Charleston, has about 30 years of real estate experience in the Charleston market and will come on board as a principal.  He will focus on product and business development, brokerage and real estate management.

“Miles’ reputation in Charleston’s real estate community is stellar, and his involvement in the community speaks volumes of who he is,” said Robert H. Nuttall, Jr., principal of Lee & Associates Charleston. “His addition, and the members of his team, will have an immediate and long-term impact on this office and our clients.”

Barkley’s experience, relationships and knowledge of the community, has positioned him as one of the top brokers and real estate managers in Charleston, while he also continues to develop and manage a diversified portfolio of real estate projects.

Early in his career Miles co-founded and helped build one of the top commercial real estate firms in Charleston. In 2009, the company was sold and Miles made the decision to return to a smaller, more personal approach to working with clients, and started The Barkley Company.

“The time was right for this merger,” said Barkley, who has known and worked with Nuttall since the 1990’s. “The Lee model offers a bigger footprint nationally and regionally and was a big reason why I made this move. The other individuals joining the Lee Charleston office include Henry B. Fishburne, Jr., broker and developer, William H. Fishburne, real estate manager and broker and Wendy Mulqueen, marketing and broker/manager assistant.

In February, Lee & Associates opened its second office in South Carolina, located at 126 Seven Farms, Suite 110. Lee’s other office in South Carolina is located in Greenville at 101 W. Court St., Suite A, in the central business district.
