-- This new delicatessen and bespoke catering outfit in Shepton Beauchamp has been a dream for Steven Kiernan and his wife Victoria, who have chosen to settle in Somerset for its wealth of fresh produce and ingredients.
This is not their first foray into the world of taste and flavour. Steven’
s résumé reads like a gastronomic guide to London’s finest eateries. He has cooked for/with Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, and in Soho Hotel, Richard Branson's Babylon at The Roof Gardens in Kensington and the list goes on...
Steven says “I have always been passionate about food, from a very early age. I helped my mum cook family dinner, and eventually took over from her because I could do it better! Cooking has to come from the heart, using locally sourced ingredients and flavour combinations that dance on your tongue. I did all my formal training in Ireland in the mid 90s and moved to London in 2000 where I have spent the last 12 years honing my skills in some of the capitals finest establishments. My wife and I took the decision to move to Somerset this year and set up Willows of Somerset.”
The new shop can be found on The Shambles in Shepton Beauchamp and you can also catch Steven’s delicious take-away dishes at some of the local markets.
Steven and Victoria’s easy charm and enthusiasm is contagious. You cannot help but find the owners and produce restorative. Come and let yourself be tempted by the fresh, home baked bread, tarts and savoury delights.
When not in the kitchen, you will find Steven and Victoria foraging for wild herbs or sourcing the best possible ingredients in and around Somerset.
