PCG Team Member Helps Raise Money For Worthy Causes

Oct. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- On Friday, October 5 and Saturday, October 6 the Christ Church in Middletown, NJ will kick off the semi-annual Calico Fair. This fair is a key fundraising event to raise money for local charities and organizations, such as Family Promise. One of PCG Digital Marketing’s own, Nicholas Casci, is eager to work the event and help raise money for a great cause.

“I’ve been involved in Christ Church since I was born, and some of my earliest memories are from the Calico Fair of 20+ years ago, like winning my first pet at the goldfish game,” explains Nicholas. “The church has been in a period of transition, but finally, after four years and the hard work of all the chairs and members of the congregation, the Calico Fair is back!
I’m very excited to be able to help create similar memories for the new families and old members of Christ Church, and to help the many worthwhile organizations that will benefit from the sweat of hours of our work.”

The Calico Fair is a semi-annual silent auction and rummage sale for Christ Church, an Episcopal church celebrating its fourth century on Kings Highway in Middletown, New Jersey. In addition to providing a house of worship for the community, the church serves the local area through numerous charitable acts and partnerships with local organizations like St. Mark's Soup Kitchen and the Calico Cat.

PCG Digital Marketing Team Supports Local Fundraising Efforts

The Calico Fair is a semi-annual fundraiser for some of these partnerships like Family Promise, various support groups and the Calico Cat. Family Promise supports homeless families in the area while groups such as AA, AI Anon, NA and CA (a career network that helps those who have lost jobs network and seek new employment) all benefit from this fundraising event. The Calico Cat, a thrift shop, cupboard and pantry for the local community, is also able to defray the costs of upkeep from this event.

A successful Calico Fair will ensure the groups aided by Christ Church receive much needed funding to continue to provide sources of support, affordable food, and consumer goods for the greater community. The Calico Fair consists of a rummage sale, of which thousands of donated items from members of the church will be laid out on the lawn for sale. A diverse selection of books, hardware, housewares, kids’ toys, collectibles and much more will all be for sale on both Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

On Saturday, the church will also host a fall festival, inviting families from all over to enjoy live music, a pumpkin patch, facing painting, kids’ games and prizes. There is even a petting zoo scheduled from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Nicholas not only helps with the semi-annual Calico Fair and fundraiser, he also volunteers much of his time with the Church. After an unfulfilling stint on Wall Street, he came back to New Jersey eager to give back to those in need. He decided to volunteer his time with the teenage group and this year marks his third as a youth educator.
