Cherry, Bekaert & Holland Names Bill Poad Director Of Indirect Taxes

Sept. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- RALEIGH, N.C. – Cherry, Bekaert & Holland, L.L.P. Poad has been named director of indirect taxes within the firm’s State and Local Tax (SALT) Group. In this position, Poad will assist clients with multistate operations in navigating the ever-changing sales and use tax regulatory environment. Poad is a specialist in multistate indirect taxation, helping clients with planning, compliance, structuring and protest proceedings. He is familiar as well with value-added tax (VAT), property valuation and excise tax issues.

Prior to joining CB&H, Poad served as a director in the SALT practice in two of the big four accounting firms. For more than five years, he was leader of indirect taxes at Alcoa, responsible for that company’s sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, employment tax, excise tax, unclaimed property, real and personal property tax for operations across North America.

Poad earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Poad is a nationally recognized expert of indirect taxation and speaks frequently on the topic to national tax conferences and symposia.
