SCEA and ISPA Announce Merger Agreement

The Society of Cost Estimating and Analysis (SCEA) and the International Society of Parametric Analysts (ISPA) announce a merger to form the International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA).

Sept. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- The Society of Cost Estimating and Analysis (SCEA) and the International Society of Parametric Analysts (ISPA) announced a definitive merger agreement between the two societies, following a membership vote that indicated resounding member approval. The new association will be called the International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA), and will represent the interests of cost practitioners from around the world.

ICEAA, with a membership of over 2,300, will be able to offer its members more resources, more training opportunities, and an increased international presence. ICEAA will hold annual domestic training conferences, quadrennial international training workshops, and local chapter seminars broadcast to the wider community via webmeeting.  Members will have access to numerous new online resources, like a searchable membership directory, an online toolkit, discussion forums and much more. These benefits represent a significant expansion over what SCEA and ISPA could offer to their respective memberships previously.

“This is a great day for the Cost Community.  After years of cooperation and collaboration, our two preeminent cost estimating and analysis societies are finally united.  Together, our international membership is assured a stronger, more vibrant organization dedicated to the advancement of the cost profession,” said Paul Marston, SCEA President.

Andy Prince, ISPA Chairperson, called the merger an “exciting step in the development of the cost estimating and analysis profession.” He added, “ICEAA will be a strong advocate for promoting and improving all estimating and analysis techniques, including parametric estimating, probabilistic cost risk analysis, earned value management analysis, and labor/material estimating.  The formation of ICEAA will lead to better cost estimates and analyses for our government and industry customers around the world.”
