ODN Inc. and Motorola Solutions successfully tests using satellite with Motorola Solution MCC 7500

Aug. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- ODN Inc., a leading provider of satellite-based solutions for military, state and corporate clients, has recently successfully completed end-to-end testing of the Motorola Solution MCC 7500 command and control solution with ODN's satellite backhaul trunks on the Motorola Solution STARCOM21 Network for the State of Illinois.

This solution now allows public safety networks to utility ODN's satellite network as a prime or backup link on MCC 7500 console to handsets, in case of catastrophic loss of T1's or microwave due to earthquakes, fires, other natural disasters or terror attacks.

"We'll be able to provide connectivity of the MCC 7500 to handsets thru ODN's network with minimal latency, which is a critical redundant architecture in case of loss of our T1 network.  The conversation was as good as terrestrial backhaul" says Doug Phelps from Motorola Solutions.
