-- JACKSONVILLE, FL, June 5, 2012- The LATINA Style
HERO Initiative was created in the spirit of empowerment for our nation’s finest. The half day conference is specifically designed to prepare those men and women with a military background for interviews and jobs in Corporate America. The event will take place on June 15th in Jacksonville, Florida from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm and will be held at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront (225 East Coastline Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32202).
Since the creation of the National LATINA Symposium
in 2004, LATINA Style
has been actively involved in the efforts the Department of Defense and the Services engage in to support Latinas serving in the military. We showcase the accomplishments of military heroes via our Letters from the Front column every month and our Annual Distinguished Military Service Awards Ceremony and Luncheon at the National LATINA Symposium
in early September. This year, with some of our Corporate Partners and with the guidance of our Military Advisory Board, we are launching a four city tour to help military veterans transition into the civilian workplace. The sessions will include resume writing, interview tips, job boards and postings, the power of social media and networking.
“We are honored to have been given the opportunity to assist some of our Nation’s finest citizens by providing them with crucial resources needed to succeed in their transition to civilian employment in corporate America,” said Robert E. Bard, President & CEO, LATINA Style
