LATINA Style Announces the Top 5 Hispanic Employee Resource Groups of the Year for 2012

ConAgra Foods’ Latino Network Selected as Employee Resource Group

Dec. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Washington, D.C., December 21, 2012 — Since 2010 LATINA Style has recognized and honor the Top 5 Hispanic Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in the country. ERGs provide growth for their members, assist in business goals, and are key resources to a company’s bottom line. This year, LATINA Style received a record number of submissions making the selection process challenging. The 3rd Annual Top 5 ERGs for 2012 were selected based on a number of criteria relating to business impact, employee empowerment and community involvement.

LATINA Style is proud to announce that ConAgra Food’s ConAgra Latino Network is the 2012 Top Employee Resource Group of the Year. ConAgra Latino Network was awarded this honor for their commitment to diversity and inclusion with a focus on the Hispanic community. One of the projects the Latino Network worked heavily on was the launch of a new product line, Rosarita. This Latin American frozen food line was inspired by Latino Network team members and even had some of the members’ mothers assist in the creation and taste. The Latino Network also host events to help the local community. At this year’s Mobile Pantry event in Naperville, IL, the group helped a record number of 294 families by donating and distributing bread, meat, and other essential food items. “The increasingly important role of ERG’s continues to expand. As corporations utilize the incredible human and market intelligence potential of their own employees their bottom line also benefits,” said Robert E. Bard, President & CEO of LATINA Style Inc. “ERG’s create not only opportunities for employees to exchange challenges and successes but also make significant contributions. We recognize ConAgra for their leadership in recognizing the potential of their human capital and making effective use of it.”

Other distinguished 2012 Employee Resource Groups being recognized for exceptional leadership and vision are:  PLAN of Allstate, CONEXION of Cisco Systems, LEAD of The Clorox Company, and HOLA of Johnson & Johnson. These ERGs are great examples of how a company can utilize these groups to connect and empower the local community, provide mentoring and training resources to its members, and aid in the innovation and reinvigoration of a company’s business. The Top 5 Employee Resources Groups are highlighted in the 2012 Nov/Dec Issue of LATINA Style Magazine.

The Top 5 Employee Resource Groups will be recognized at the 10th Annual LATINA Style 50 Awards & Diversity Leaders Conference on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm at the CAPITAL HILTON | 1001 16TH Street NW, Washington, District of Columbia, 20036.
