April 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Deerfield, IL… Keith Sanderson, Sidekick of Max A Pooch says, “Each day during his morning walk Max A Pooch picks up litter and bags it. If each of us made a conscious effort to pick-up litter we would be reducing the about of waste found along streets, in parks, and other places.”

Max A Pooch is the only canine running in the Hero Dog Awards contest on an anti-litter plank. The objective of the reduce America’s waste line plank of his campaign  is to remind Americans reducing litter is so easy even A Pooch can do.

He has selected Dogs for Charity to be the recipient of any prize money should he win his category in the contest.

Supporting Max A Pooch’s reduce America’s Waste Line Campaign can be done once a day at http://www.herodogawards.org/vote/?nominee=61639598

Max A Pooch is a throwaway dog. He proves removing litter is so easy even A Pooch can do it.

By demonstrating his amazing abilities he is an example of the millions of throwaway dogs who are waiting for adoption in shelters, and unfortunately the millions of animals that are euthanized each year.

He is looking for support from both environmentalists and animal advocates. Sanderson states there will soon be campaign materials to help supporters of Max A Pooch. inform the public and direct them to the voting site.

Max A Pooch who resides in Deerfield, IL is the canine who has garnered accolades for his outstanding work in increasing awareness on how to reduce litter and of the plight of millions of throwaway dogs that annually are euthanized or end up in animal shelters waiting for humans to adopt them.

Most recently TAILS Magazine called Max A Pooch "The Canine Superhero to the Environment in an article that appeared in their April 2012 edition.

David Mizejewski Animal Planet Blogger wrote of Max A Pooch, "this is so awesome. Check out the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSfNNH-6cSI&context=C43ffe...=) about a "recycled" black lab that is now on a mission to recycle trash. I think this is such a clever and useful way to channel the lab's innate retrieving instinct for the greater good."

Pooch and his sidekick Sanderson have appeared on radio and television, as well as in print, on hundreds perhaps thousands of websites.

According to Sanderson the decision for A Pooch to run for the Dog Hero Awards came about because "Through the process of campaigning he will raise awareness that litter is more than just an unsightly problem that plagues America, and that it is a moral crime that approximately 4,000,000 companion animals are euthanized annually in the United States.

The organization Keep America Beautiful claims the United States Spends $11 billion annually to clean up litter. According to Sanderson "$11 billion could pay for the annual tuition for more than 520,000 students at four-year universities, or the salaries of 183,000 teachers who earn $60,000 annually.

In addition more than $1 billion dollars is spent to pick up 8,000,000 stray/homeless cats and dogs and to euthanize half of them. That is a tremendous waste of both money and the lives of animals. All this cost and misery and death because millions of humans annually throwaway animals as if they are no more than pieces of litter.

The campaign runs thru June 30th 2012 when category winners will be announced by American Humane Association.

Sanderson believes "Max A Pooch is the only dog in his category who is running on a combined environmental/throwaway dog platform. "
