BAM Outsource Congratulates Bubba Watson on Masters Win

April 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Bubba Watson, the 33 year-old American, won his first major championship and the famous green jacket after a second extra hole in a playoff with Louis Oosthuizen. BAM Outsource, a direct marketing and outsource sales company based in Peterborough, had put their money on Tiger Woods or Rory McIlroy winning the tournament but both faded into the background in the final couple of rounds.

Both players had incredible shots through their final round. Oosthuizen hit one of only 4 albatrosses in Masters history earlier in the round. However it was Bubba who pulled out the goods when they were most needed. He hit four straight birdies from the 13th hole to level with Oosthuizen. In the second playoff hole both players hit wayward shots but Watson’s was far worse and it looked like he had an impossible task ahead of him. However he played what was BAM Outsource’s shot of the tournament as he carved a wedge 50 yards left-to-right through the trees and ended just 12 feet from the pin. Watson’s victory pulls him way up the world rankings to number 4.

In his own words Watson said after the tournament that the victory hadn’t fully sunk in yet. Watson and his wife adopted a baby boy two weeks ago and he put his victory down to him. “I wanted to come in later [to Augusta] just because of my son, I wanted to spend more time with him.” He continued “I think it calmed me down, made me realise that there are more important things in life than hitting a white golf ball round 18 holes.”

Managing director of BAM Outsource, Ben Knowles, feels that it was this calmness which helped Watson. “You only had to watch Rory McIlroy collapse under the pressure last year to see how much nerves can get to people. Bubba had a release, something else which he was excited about, which helped him relax into his game.”
