Atlantic Pacific Mining Approves $1.2bn Peru Copper Project

March 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Atlantic Pacific Mining a pioneering mineral exploration company based in Lima, Peru today announced that it has approved the development of the $1.2bn Las Gimbas copper project in southern Peru's Apurimac region.
Las Gimbas will have an initial production of 400,000t per annum of copper in concentrate, including significant gold, silver and molybdenum by-products.

Atlantic Pacific Mining spokesperson Ms. Gloria Xavier said. “Atlantic Pacific Mining also recently announced $1.47bn Riopaccay expansion and Las Gimbas Greenfield project will establish Southern Peru as a first tier copper-producing division for the company.”

Atlantic Pacific Mining is looking to approve a $1.1bn investment to develop the Elan East underground thermal coal mine in Northern Territories, Australia. The Elan East underground long wall mine will produce 5.7 million tons a year of export thermal coal, with a life of about 18 years.
