Legislators can benefit from more exchanges – Honourable Oyedele

March 24, 2012 - PRLog -- London, England, UK: Hon Kamil T. Oyedele, Chair of House Committee on Finance and Appropriation of Osun State, said there should be more programmes for legislative capacity building and exchanges between African state legislature and their British/western counterparts. “This should be a priority because as such collaboration is always mutually beneficial to the citizens and leadership,” he disclosed this as the highest ranking officer in Osun State Government delegation who visited Britain  on an explorative educational tour of  the University of East London, a leading London modern university.  Professor Patrick McGhee, president (Vice Chancellor) of the University of East London who played host to the team said that his institution “would work with the government of Osun state for the benefits of its citizens and residents through collaborative partnerships and exchange programmes”

Hon Oyedele, who trained as an accountant before entering public life said that “education is one of the biggest legacies this generation can leave for the next” and after a tour of the ultra modern facilities, he commended the pioneering research led by Dr Chris Imafidon in the area of educational informatics, computer security and e-government. He said this collaborative work which includes other universities and industries, “has universal benefits at every level of learning, leadership, and governance”

The Osun state high powered delegation included- Dr Charles Akinola – Director General in the Office of Economic, Development and Partnerships; Sola Fasure - Deputy Director, Bureau for Communication; Shittu Amitolu – Consultant to Osun State Governor and Suraju Olanrewaju – Consultant to Osun State Governor.
