ART SAN DIEGO 2012 Presents “New Art City” in Balboa Park | Sept. 6 – 9, 2012

Feb. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- San Diego, CA (February) ART SAN DIEGO, with presenting sponsor UBS Financial Services, will present its fourth addition of ART SAN DIEGO in the cultural setting of Balboa Park. The theme “New Art City” will suggest a new way of expressing the art fair. Inspired by experiences in urban places - the show's layout will include districts
dedicated to the following disciplines:

•   Contemporary Art
•   Contemporary Furniture Design
•   Mid-century and Modern Art / Furniture
•   Area designated for experimental works

Each district will have its own social center allowing places to sit and talk with artists, dealers, emerging curators and institution leaders.

NEW VENUE | Located in scenic Balboa Park, the 38,000 Balboa Park Activity Center was designed by award-winning architect Rob Wellington Quigley.. Beautiful landscaping, public art and spacious outdoor plazas at the north and south end of the building provide excellent sites for the fourth edition of ART SAN DIEGO. The Balboa Park Activity Center is conveniently accessible to downtown, major freeways and offers ample free parking. The building is located in walking distance to 26 major museums. Our location allows us to collaborate with many of San Diego’s leading cultural institutions including the Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego Museum of Art, The Mingei International Museum, and the Timken Museum – providing cultural exchange and “after-hours” events.
