The effect of less grout lines means that there is more of a flowing continuous design over the floor area and this can give an illusion of more space.

The colour will also make a difference to the overall finish of the floor area; using very dark colours in a small room may make it appear smaller where as using lighter floor tile shades will make the room appear larger and more spacious.
