UK’s leading TV & media business SCCI bucks trend for downward growth with Alphatrack acquisition

SCCI Group, one of the UK’s leading TV, media and security businesses is bucking the current economic trend for downward growth with its acquisition of South East based Alphatrack Systems Ltd.

With two thirds of the UK’s business leaders predicting that the economy will get worse during 2012 (Ipsos Mori survey), SCCI is expanding its operations in the security sector with its take over of Alphatrack.  Both companies supply security equipment to the social housing sector and by combing forces will now be able to utilise their facilities, services and staff to launch a new nationwide 24 hour call centre and service engineer support service across a range of products.

SCCI believes that the acquisition of Alphatrack will help position SCCI as the best “Buildings Services and Technologies” business in the UK.

The company which employs 320 staff and has its head office in Cheshunt in Hertfordshire, has enjoyed consistent growth during the past six years. The company is confident that the acquisition of Alphatrack will act as a catalyst for further growth as the CEO of SCCI Group, David Fogelman, explains: “The acquisition of Alphatrack completes the foundation of our fully comprehensive buildings technology offering.  SCCI Group can now offer a uniquely integrated service in a traditionally fragmented market. We believe our ability to offer a combination of services, usually supplied by several companies, will add value and best serve our customer’s needs.”  

The Managing Director of Alphatrack Ltd, Doug Hersey says that Alphatrack was always planning to expand its operations and that the merger has come at the right time  “We have been looking to increase our turnover as a company as part of our long term strategy. There is a clear synergy between Alphatrack and SCCI in terms of philosophy and the markets we are aiming to target so it make sense to move forward and combine expertise and resources to build a stronger more efficient company.”

Alphatrack, which employs 45 staff and has its head office in Epping, designs, supplies and maintains electronic integrated security systems such as CCTV, access control and door entry systems for a number of Local Authorities and Housing Associations in a number of London boroughs. Its work in this area fits well with that of SCCI which also supplies a range of design, installation and maintenance services to local authorities, education establishments, hotel & hospitality groups, Bookmakers, retail establishments, cinema groups, leisure & stadia facilities and landlords in both the private and social housing sectors.
