Chapter President Chef Damian Thomas presented Chef Duke LoCicero with the award of Chef of the Year for 2011.
By: ACFNO December 7, 2011 Chef Duke LoCicero Awarded Chef of the Year by ACFNO New Orleans — December 7, 2011 — The American Culinary Federation New Orleans Chapter held its annual Christmas Celebration on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. As part of the festivities Chapter President Chef Damian Thomas presented Chef Duke LoCicero with the award of Chef of the Year for 2011. Chef Duke has been a loyal and contributing member of the ACFNO for many years and was honored as one of the ‘Best Chefs of Louisiana of 2011’ at the ACFNO’s award gala in April of 2011. Also honored at Tuesday’s celebration was Chef Dean Terrebonne as Chef of the Year 2007, Chef T. Walden as Chef of the Year 2008, and Chef Damian Thomas as Chef of the Year 2009. Due to organizational restricting following Hurricane Katrina these awarded were not awarded. The American Culinary Federation New Orleans was founded in 1978 under the name of Les Chefs des Cuisine d La'Louisian. As an organization of professional chefs, the ACFNO chapter strives to make a positive difference in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry within the Greater New Orleans region through service and to serve as a conduit of culinary education and professional development through apprenticeship, mentorship, scholarship and certification.
