Smart Mobile extends its network coverage to all provinces and rolls out GSM 900MHz

Dec. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- (December 05, 2011) – With the launch of new base stations in Oddar Meanchey province, Preah Vihear province and Mondulkiri province, Smart Mobile extends its coverage to nationwide as a part of its efforts to provide quality telecommunications service to more Cambodians. The company announces today that its service is available in an area covering more than 80% of the Cambodian population and around 50% of the country’s territory by now.

Current network coverage extension comes together with the ubiquitous GSM 900MHz rollout. The rollout of base stations working in the 900MHz frequency band enables significant improvements of the signal travel distance and penetration parameters, allowing more stable connection for indoor, rural and remote areas. Smart Mobile’s subscribers can now enjoy talking, texting and using mobile internet services in any province of the nation.

On top to the nationwide coverage of Smart Mobile’s GSM/GPRS/EDGE network, Smart Mobile’s 3.75G HSPA/HSPA+ network, ideal for fast mobile internet, is available in 14 provinces already today.
