U.S. Chamber Presents National Award to RecruitMilitary

Nov. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- RecruitMilitary, LLC, a company that has been helping veterans find jobs since 1998, has received the First Annual Lee Anderson Small Business Veteran and Military Spouse Employment Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented at the First Annual Hiring Our Heroes Awards Dinner Gala, held on November 10 at Chamber headquarters in Washington. Accepting the award on behalf of RecruitMilitary was Drew Myers, founder and president of the company and a former captain in the United States Marine Corps.
    The Chamber presented awards in five categories to recognize “specific businesses that have gone above and beyond to honor the sacrifices our military families make in their service to our nation.”
    RecruitMilitary has been collaborating with the U.S. Chamber by producing 13 hiring events, called Hiring Our Heroes/RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expos, with a schedule running from September through December 2011. The U.S. Chamber scheduled 100 Hiring Our Heroes events from March 2011 through March 2012.
    RecruitMilitary connects employers, franchisors, and educational institutions with job-seeking men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, veterans who already have civilian work experience, members of the National Guard and reserves, and military spouses. The company makes those connections via a nationwide schedule of Veteran Opportunity Expos, which are job fairs enhanced to include franchisors and educational institutions as well as employers; a job board with a database of over 450,000 job seekers who have military backgrounds plus more than 400,000 job postings; Military Sourcing Services, a recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) mechanism; and Search & Employ®, a bimonthly print magazine for job seekers with military backgrounds. RecruitMilitary sends more than 36,000 copies of the magazine to transition counselors at over 200 military bases throughout the world, National Guard and reserve units, and men and women who attend RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expos.
    RecruitMilitary has more than 50 employees. All of the company’s owners, officers, and senior account executives, and the vast majority of the remaining personnel, have served in the armed forces. RecruitMilitary is headquartered in Loveland, Ohio, near Cincinnati.
