Nov. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- RateTea.net has been rolling out a series of incremental changes over the past few months, and has published a newsletter summing these changes up.  Today marks the last of these changes, which includes the addition of images to summarize each of the articles on the site.

New Logo:

On August 10th, 2011, RateTea.net adopted a new logo, designed by Sylvia Odhner, best known for the popular mind reading themed webcomic, Think Before You Think.  The full version of the logo can be found on all pages of the site now, and a more compact version of the site can be found on social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter (screenname ratetea) and other places where RateTea.net has a presence.

New Header:

The site's header was also redesigned, on August 30th, 2011, shortly after the new logo was adopted.  The header prominently features the new logo, and is much more spacious, more visually appealing, and more professional looking than the old header, while retaining the same essential functionality for navigating the site.

New Homepage Layout:

RateaTea.net rolled out a new homepage on October 17th, 2011.  The new homepage layout contains most of the same features and functionality of the old homepage, but is more aesthetically pleasing, and also makes more of the site accessible within one click.  The layout removes the old search box, which was made obsolete by improved searching and browsing features through the rest of the site.

Tags and pictures for articles:

The amount of articles published on RateTea.net has grown considerably since the site's launch.  As of this press release, the site now includes 532 articles on individual brands, styles, and regions of tea, and 33 other tea-related articles, found under the "Articles" section of the site.

In response to the larger volume of articles, a tagging system has been implemented, similar to the one in use on most other sites and blogging platforms.  These tags classify the articles by various topics, including Tea and Health, Tea and Sustainability, Brewing Tea, Tea Business and Industry, and Buying Tea.  The articles are designed to appeal to both tea enthusiasts as well as insiders in the tea industry, such as business owners and consultants.

Today, November 8th, 2011, RateTea.net added images to the listings of articles, in order to make the site more visually appealing and easier to navigate, and to more clearly communicate at a glance what readers can find on the site.

New rating descriptors:

In response to feedback from users, RateTea.net has implemented rating descriptors, which are verbal summaries or descriptions that correspond to the numerical ratings given on the site, for the categories of aroma, flavor, value, and overall.
