Follow on Google News | ![]() Screenwise Opens Self-Testing Studio For Actors Auditioning For Overseas Or Out-Of-State ProductionsScreenwise has opened a Self-Testing Studio to enable actors to easily audition for overseas or out-of-state productions. The newly renovated Self-Testing Studio is located in the Screenwise Studios in Surry Hills, Sydney.
By: Luci McCulloch The Self-Testing Studio is a fully equipped room inclusive of a Camera Operator, HD Camera, LCD Screen, DVD player, external Sennheiser microphone and professional LED studio lights. The Self-Testing Studio can be hired in 30 or 60 minute intervals and actor's selected scenes can be exported to DVD or emailed directly to the actor via an FTP download link. Costs involved to hire the Self-Testing Studio are as follows: 1–30 minutes = $55 (inc. GST) 31–60 minutes = $88 (inc. GST) These costs are inclusive of a camera operator, professional studio and equipment hire and scenes transfer. Alternatively, actors can hire a regular studio to rehearse in or independently film their auditions. The cost of studio hire is $77 (inc. GST) per hour or $550 (inc. GST) per 8 hour day. These costs include an HD Camera, LCD Screen, DVD player and professional studio lights (Fresnals). Screenwise is not only committed to providing Australian actors with intense training and mentorship through their Sydney acting classes but is also committed to giving actors a fair go when it comes to auditioning for competitive international acting roles that would not normally be available or easily obtainable to them. Both studio spaces are situated in the brand new wing of the Screenwise Studios with top of the range appliances to utilise. The hours of operation are 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of business hours is approved on a case-by-case basis and may incur additional fees. Screenwise is also currently auditioning for the 2 Year Full-Time Diploma of Screen Acting and the Screenwise Showreel Course. Auditions for the Diploma of Screen Acting opened on 1st September 2011 and the first round of audition applications will close on 1st November 2011, for a February 2012 intake. The 2 Year Full-Time Diploma of Screen Acting is the first of its kind in Australia. Late applications will be accepted with an additional $20 admin fee.
