SYDNEY - July 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Lynn Hegarty is one of Australia's most in-demand Directors - Lynn Hegarty (A Place To Call Home, Packed to the Rafters, Crownies, All Saints, Water Rats, Heartbreak High). This Master Intensive Workshop will run on Saturday August 3 2013 from 9.30am to 5.30pm at Screenwise Studios in Surry Hills. Lynn will personally view the applicant's showreels and select the successful applicants.

Considered by the industry as an "Actor's Director", Lynn's workshop will run over an eight hour period and participants will have a number of opportunities to perform their scenes and to watch as others perform. The end result will provide the actor with a set of skills honed in a supportive, adventurous, risk taking and fun environment.

This workshop is about improving your screen acting performance skills using a number of specific tools. Using scenes from recent film and TV productions, participants will focus on finding ways to use ‘whatever is available' to actors during the short rehearsal and performance times that are synonymous with screen acting.

Ultimately the workshop will assist you in achieving performances that you are thoroughly engaged in, energised by, and ultimately satisfied by.

Topics that will be covered in the course of working on scenes in pairs are -

* Know the show you're in
* Getting the best out of your time with a Director on set
* What to do when things aren't working - ie: how to ‘Embrace The Struggle'
* How to use the space - steps to physically find your character in a location or set
* Negotiation - strategies to get what you need to do your best work
* Risk and truth - you can't have one without the other
* Being present in the moment - the one tool you cannot do without

Applicants must submit a CV, headshot and showreel to info@screenwise.com.au prior to paying online.
