Coventry Sports Foundation Zumbathon raises £800 for Help for HeroesA fundraising Zumbathon was hailed as a huge success after it raised over £800 for charity.
Almost 200 people took part in the two-hour long Zumba workout - a dance craze which mixes aerobic fitness with Latin moves and music. The marathon session was held at the Coventry Sports Foundation-managed Xcel Leisure Centre, in Canley, for charity Help for Heroes. Studio Co-ordinator Nicole Freeman was delighted with how the day went, she said: “It was fantastic, there was a great energy in the room. “We had 173 people turn up and seven different instructors, everyone was buzzing. Loads of people came up to me after to say they had a great time. “It was great that the majority of the class managed to last the whole two hours. “There were a handful of people who left a bit early, because it can be quite full on, but most stayed the distance.” Such was the success of the Zumbathon that another is set to be arranged towards the end of the year.
