Good amount of feedback of the Titleist 2009 AP1 Iron Set

The AP1 irons are polished not chromed like the AP2s. Thus, they wear as well as other similar clubs, e.g. Callaway X20s. I have had my AP1s for a few weeks, and they look fine after a few rounds.

Sept. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- The AP1 irons are polished not chromed like the AP2s. Thus, they wear as well as other similar clubs, e.g. Callaway X20s. I have had my AP1s for a few weeks, and they look fine after a few rounds.

AP1 irons are dual-cavity irons, which mean the weight is squeezed out to the perimeters. The body of the head is cast #431 steel with an aluminum cavity plate. New for Titleist is a soft elastomer cushion and central cross-member, which translates into a nice, solid feel with muted vibration. Combine all that with a high-density tungsten nickel box and a low center of gravity, and you get a state-of-the-art cast club with excellent feel and control that flies the ball high.

The lofts on the AP1 irons are strong, two degrees stronger than my LT2 irons from a couple of years ago. Still, the ball gets up in the air and stays there longer than I’m used to, even with the lower loft angles. Could it be the tungsten sole weights in the AP1s? Out of the rough, they’re no better or worse than any other Discount Golf Equipment, but if you toe the ball you might still dig the ball out.

The AP1's high-tech multi-material construction features a steel body, tungsten nickel sole, elastomer bar and aluminum cavity plate. These materials combine to deliver both performance and feel. The dual cavity design of the Titleist 2009 AP1 Irons pushes weight to the perimeter for forgiveness. A central cross member featuring a soft elastomer cushion provides structural rigidity behind the impact area while also dampening face vibration for better overall feel. The lower cavity of the Titleist AP1 iron is enclosed by a tungsten nickel box. This high density material places the center of gravity (CG) low and deep for performance, while also providing low frequency vibration dampening for outstanding solid feel.

One thing these Discount Golf Clubs were quite good for was hitting from the rough. Even hitting from heavy lies the AP1s were good at getting to the ball and advancing it down the fairway. The heads were solid at impact and very rarely got turned over in the longer grass.

The heads of the AP1’s are the largest footprint of any Titleist irons you’ll see.  These are forgiving clubs which are very easy to hit. So easy in fact they made me wonder why I play clubs which are “harder” to hit.

I have to say that the AP1 provided a nice blend of forgiveness and feedback. You will still get rewarded with a decent shot if you don't hit the ball quite perfectly every time but you are also provided with decent feedback that will help you make better ball striker. Oh, you can still punished if you make a bad swing but the AP1 provided me with http://www.discountgolf4sale.com/Discount-891-Titleist-20... a good amount of feedback to help me get better while offering forgiveness on days when your swing is a little off.
